“Revitalizing the Teacher Education”, the guiding principle that fleshed out within our complex possessions ought to enhance the deliverance of quality education into the young minds at the vanguard of internationalization. Revitalizing comes into two-way process, first, making the teacher education at the forefront of international agenda to create a massive output of global competitiveness that starts up from the quality education received by every learner at the academic portals of the country. Second, generate competent student teachers that suit the qualities of being the 21st century educators by providing them the experience to teach within ASEAN member countries and to develop the skills in teaching and pedagogy.

EXPECTATIONS

In view of the Batch 7 SEA Teacher project, culminates various expectations and momentary thoughts at the end of one-month teaching exposure, one of this is to experience the culture and traditions of educational system in the schools of other South East Asian countries that give substantial learning experience to the pre-service student teachers exchange and will bring positive changes into the home school by introducing new innovative classroom approaches and style. Embrace the culture with an aim to promote diversity and develop reciprocity, cooperation and unity with the students in achieving success of learning, a vehicle towards the outcomes of the project. One way to harness the competence of the student teachers is to improve their English communication skill at the expense of globalization, and henceforth, English will be widely used for all around instruction. This does not just necessitate on the part of the pre-service teachers but also on the most part of students at the threshold of global dynamics for competitiveness.

OBJECTIVES

a. Introduce the culture of my country and so the educational system which could provide innovations on the outlook of education, and the essential background to meet the success in education of learners;

b. Learning is an active process, therefore one of my imperative goals in the SEA Teacher project is to encourage active learning among students. The introduction of varieties of teaching strategies and methods of teaching will not just let students sit in chair and depend on what teachers could have offer, memorizing long lesson and churning up answers. Students must need to learn as part of themselves, to discover the world and make learning authentic to their respective lives.

c. Establish a comparative analysis of the educational system of my country of origin, Philippines, and the educational system of the country I bounded, Indonesia, by the comparison of curriculum development and structure using the widely used model of Stufflebeam known as CIPP Model or the Context, Input, Process and Product.
